New Zealanders do not open umbrellas!? Part 2

I found other information about customs. They were interesting for me. So I’ll introduce them, first.

It is not late!?
In Japan, trains and bus are on time. But New Zealanders are easy going people. So if a bus arrives on time in New Zealand, in fact, it may be a previous bus. They think that it is not lateness up to 30 minutes late.
On the other hand, they are exactly close shops and finish their work, and go home.

A rule in bathroom…
When you do not a bathroom in New Zealand, you have to leave the door opened. If the door was closed, they consider that someone use it. So they do not need to fix key to the door. Most bathrooms in New Zealand are not fixed keys.

This is my manuscript of pesentation.

"Hi! I'm Natsue. I will introduce umbrellas in New Zealand.
When it rains in Japan, it is ordinary for Japanese people to open umbrellas not to get wet. But New Zealanders do not walk with an umbrella up when it rains. You hardly see people who put an umbrella in New Zealand.
Why do not New Zealanders use umbrellas? It is because of how it rain there. In New Zealand, it rains in short time not for all day like japans. It never rains a long time in New Zealand and is like showers. So they do not want to take trouble to have umbrellas.

If they put umbrellas, they open umbrellas like big parasol. But I think it shows New Zealanders spend free lives. It is opposite to Japan. Japanese are pressed for times. That difference might cause because of the difference about how to spend the time. "

New Zealanders do not open umbrellas!?

New Zealanders do not walk with an umbrella up when it rains. You hardly see people who put an umbrella in New Zealand.
It is because of how to rain there. In New Zealand, it rains in short time not for all day like japans. It never rains for a long time in New Zealand and is like showers. So they do not want to take trouble to have umbrellas.

It would be a little rain soon.
It is fine to wait until it stops.
If I get wet because of rains, it would dry soon.
Those are their thought about rains.

If they put umbrellas, they open umbrellas like big parasol. It is an extreme.
But I think it shows New Zealanders spend free lives. It is opposite to Japan.

human castles in Spain

I am gong to talk about history of human castles festival. This festival began in the 17th century and was originally a dance called the Valencian Dance. At the end of this dance a small group of people stood on other's shoulders to create a tower of people. The people that joined this dance at town festivals belonged to the ploughmen's trade guild. According to a Catalan cultural organization called "Carrutxa," this dance was called the Valencian Dance because the word "Valentium" means strength in Latin. Gradually, groups of people began to form the Human Tower aspect of the dance.

Next, I am gong to show you how to make human castles. There are three parts to a castle. The base, or “pinya”, of the castle is formed by a group of people who stand together with their hands twisted together and can hold up to 300 people. Then people stand on top of the base to form a tree like trunk, or “tronc”, with a certain people on each story. And a “pom de dalt” or knob like structure is formed at the top, usually crowned with a small child because they are lighter. When the child reaches the top, he or she waves by signaling the completion of the castle. The end result looks like a human wedding cake! Teams which create the highest castle without anyone falling are considered the winner.

Autumn festival around the world

I will introduce to you a festival of Mexico. The festival is called “the day of the dead”. It is held on November 2. You may feel sad when you see a word “dead”. But it is not sad festival.

It is similar to Japan's Bon festival. People comfort their ancestors decorating their graves with flowers, sugar candy skulls, candied fruit and pumpkins like this (→). Decoration of graves depends on each family. So you can enjoy the difference when you go to Mexico then.

The sugar skulls have various types and are colorful and cute. They are sold in many places of Mexico for the festival. This site shows you how to cook sugar candy skulls. Try to cook, if you like it.

If you want to see more photographs about the day of the dead, click here. It helps your imagination about the festival.

Our group is going to introduce a festival of Spain. The festival is human castle or “castles” in Catalan. The people of Catalonia build human castles. They believe that the construction of human castles demonstrates teamwork, patient and success. This festival is traditional and began in the 17th century.

Teams try to build the highest and most difficult castle against other team. The highest castle so far is 13m, which is as high as ten human stories in height.

If you click here, you can understand how to build human castles and see many kinds of human castles each team.

The Devil Wears Prada

I will introduce a movie “The Devil Wears Prada”.

I love this movie. It encourages me and I can try to do something. When I feel sad and disappointing, I watch this DVD. And I love Anne Hathaway, she is very beautiful.

The Devil Wears Prada is comedy-drama film which is based on the best-selling novel. It was released in 2006. Wendy Finerman produced and David Frankel directed. The film was distributed by 20th Centry Fox..

It stars Andrea ”Andy” Sachs (Anne Hathaway) goes to New York City to be a journalist. And she gets a job as a co-assistant to powerful and demanding fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Her job is “a million girls would die for”. Unfortunately Andy is not interested in fashion. Moreover Miranda’s demand is high level! So her hard terrible life starts… Is this what I want to do? What did I want to be? Perhaps you may have thought so in your society, too.

This movie is set in fashion world. The clothes which are wore by actors are so fashionable☆ Many designers allow their clothes and accessories to be used in the film, making it the most expensively-costumed film in history
Music in the movie is gorgeous. Madonna and U2 offered their music. This is music of them. “Vogue”

You can enjoy the fashions, actors, story and music by this movie in many ways.
This is the official site. If you want to know more information, check it out.
